The hotel is situated in the original walled area called Ungelt-Tyn Yard. If you enter from the east side you go through the original gate later enclosed with houses. At that time there stood three houses here one of them called the Blue House now hotel Metamorphis with custom-house in their neighbourhood. In the 12 century a lively trading flourished here ensuring economic prosperity of this important European trade intersection. You can find here unique rooms with original beams from the end of the 15 century, rooms with late gothic vault as well as rooms in the 16 century used by the former owner as the family chapel.
