One hour north of Rome via the A1 Autostrada, take the Attigliano exit and the hotel is immediately off the exit. Recently renovated, Hotel Roscio has 29 simply furnished but comfortable rooms and a sunlit ground-floor with bar, lounge and a breakfast area, all whimsically decorated in animal and floral motifs by local artisans. All rooms include bathrooms with showers, color TV, air conditioning and daily maid service. Just in front of the hotel is Ristorante Roscio which serves typical Umbrian cuisine € roasted or grilled meat and fowl, home-made pastas with truffles or sauces and the local Colli Amerini and Umbrian wines. The restaurant also has a full bar. Daytrips can be easily taken either by using the Auto or Superstrada€s or, even better, by exploring the backroads. Within easy driving distance is Orvieto and its surrounding wine country; historic Viterbo and its historic walled centro; Lake Bolsena; Cascata delle Marmore; Narni; Lake Vico; Spoleto and the wonderfully eccentric Parco dei Mostri in neighbouring Bomarzo. From the Attigliano train station one can visit Florence and Rome or Terni with its rail links to Todi, Perugia and Lago Trasimeno.
