"The Dom Pedro Garajau Hotel is a well-appointed establishment in a quiet location, 9 km along the coast from Funchal and close to the interesting village of Caniço. The hotel's location, its day and evening programmes of excursions and entertainment, and its excellent facilities make it the perfect base for exploring the island or enjoying an action-packed holiday. The Hotel Dom Pedro Garajau is composed of six adjacent buildings, stretching over 300 metres along the street, with all sorts of local shops and bars opposite. Each building has three floors, with 104 Twin Rooms and 178 Twin Studios with kitchenette, plus the main building, which houses Reception (open 24 hours a day), the Tropical Restaurant, indoor pool, TV room, games room, Bar Caracalla and two meeting rooms. Indoor Pool Under a sliding roof, the indoor pool is heated to a welcoming 27°C/80°F, and is located in the exotic Bar Caracalla, next to Reception. Here guests will find sunloungers, showers and a towel service. Outdoor Pool and Children's Pool These attractive swimming pools are set among palm trees by the Pool Bar. Generously sized and free-form, the pools are divided by a bridge leading to the thatched bar where drinks and snacks are served to guests relaxing on sunloungers in the tropical gardens. Showers and a towel service are available. Cristo Rei Outdoor Pool This pool is located 750m from the hotel, next to the Statue of Christ. Sunbathing terraces, sunloungers and showers. The Tropical Restaurant The Dom Pedro Hotel is proud to offer the Tropical Restaurant, a cool welcoming space which leads out onto a gorgeous dining terrace looking out over the lush gardens to desert islands on the ocean horizon. The restaurant is decorated in pastels featuring soft peach, and provides a most comfortable place to enjoy a meal. Open: Breakfast buffet: 7:30 am to 10:00 am Lunch, set menu: 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm Dinner buffet: 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm Bars Bar Caracalla is located by the indoor pool and offers a really exotic atmosphere. During the day, it is a wonderful place to relax in the sun and perhaps enjoy your favourite drink, while later it becomes the softly lit venue for the live entertainment provided every night. Open: 10:00 am to 12:00 midnight. The Pool Bar is next to the outdoor swimming pool in in the hotel's luxuriant gardens, and is the ideal place to enjoy Madeira's warm sunshine while having a light lunch, a snack and a drink, throughout the day.
